After some editing, I fixed the overlapping hatches by doubling over the lines to create shapes with holes rather than just layering completely filled hatches on top of each other

New Project: Custom Chess Set

I was asked to create a custom chess set for my next class. I thought about an idea for a while and I decided to do one centered around a video game theme. I didn't pick anything in particular, as I didn't want to just make fanart. Minecraft is a game that popped to mind, so I made blocky chess pieces Blocks are pretty simple to draw, so first I started with a silhouette of what they might look like I used grid paper to make each block size identical. Something like this might need support structure if 3d printed due to all the horizontal planes. After settling on the above silhouettes, I wanted to see what they might look like in 3d. Each piece will have a base of 5×5×2 blocks. Each block is equal to 1×1×1 cm, which should meet regular chess piece size requirements if I make it at this scale. The knight piece will need a lot of refinement, it does not look like a horse at all. I might need to make the blocks smaller, in order to allow for more detail.

I MEASURED EVERYTHING WRONG

Here is the almost complete music box. I just need to add the crank and the screws, and then colour it. This is proof that I am doing my work, I just need a few more minutes to submit it. Don't worry, it will DEFINITELY be done before 2pm. Turns out I measured the whole thing wrong, cause the objects didn't fit in at the end. The comb had 18 spokes, not 14 as I thought originally, which meant I had to redo the entire pin drum and the comb, as well as the metal outside parts. Had to redo the whole thing today, thought an all nighter would be enough time but it wasn't. This is very unprofessional of me and I apologise

Music box progress

This week has been very hectic, I have a lot of final assignments due this week so I couldn't work as much as I wanted to. I measured the outside box of the music box, which was pretty simple since all the shapes are squares. I'm not sure how to measure the radius of the fillet corners of the holes in the box, I will need help with that. I can't take the music box apart completely right now because of a plastic stopper that is on the crank. I will need to break it off, but I don't know how to do it safely and efficiently. I measured the spokes of the box. This proved to be quite challenging due to the small size of the spokes. Instead of measuring the distance between the spokes, I had to use math to figure out the distance between each spoke because my caliper couldn't reach between the spokes to measure.
